My Humanities students had their doubts about the effectiveness of the murder weapon in "The Adventure of the Speckled Band." So in class on Friday we had a great opportunity to let science meet art. As you can tell by the expressions, my students had varying levels of enthusiasm for getting the opportunity to handle Dr. Roylott's favorite pet!
Afterward, they made their way through the animal kingdom, thinking of creatures that might be just as deadly and perhaps more trainable. All I can say is do not make an enemy of any of my HUM 101E students! They are a very cunning lot. Let's hope they don't become the "first of criminals."
And here's a big tip of the deerstalker to Dr. John Moeller of the Wofford Biology department and his pals "Big Killer," "Little Killer" and "Tiny Killer."
