March 24, 2008

Chicka Chicka yeah.....

So I'm hardcore stoked dudes!

I have now officially been chosen as an RPM for next year!!! Sooo, that means that I get to help out with the freshmen "integration" process next year. Basically, RPMs (resident peer mentors?? possibly??) get to be a part of the newly redesigned first year program, live together in 2nd floor Carlisle, and have a grand old time.

I find out on Wednesday (?) if I'm part of Orientation staff (aka "O-Staff") for this coming fall as well.

Yayyyyy! Wish me luck!

Alright, the Soprano's are calling my name. Someone's gonna get whacked!

Just hang in there.....

That's kind of my mantra for the next two weeks. This week is all sorts of midterm type things (papers, tests, etc.) because midterm grades are being posted this coming Monday. But, my bright light is the fact that this weekend is Easter and I get to see my family! They're going to Myrtle Beach for the long weekend so after class on Friday I'm driving over to visit until Sunday night (I'm highly excited about my Easter basket). WAC is sponsoring an egg hunt tomorrow afternoon; it should be interesting (though I haven't quite yet decided if I'm going or not, it's supposed to storm real bad, so we'll see).

Then next week I don't have a lot of tests or anything, I just have a lot of busy work and things to do go and places to be and people to see. But the BLINDING light at the end of next week's tunnel is....SPRING BREAK!!! I'm going to Myrtle Beach with a big group of people; it promises to be an excellent week with my girlies.

Dsc00634 Ah, yes, Greek Week. Well, we didn't win. But we didn't come in last!! And we did remarkably well in a bunch of categories, including cornhole (which I was 1/2 of the winning partnership, that's right). So that was great! The picture is my entire pledge class at Greek Games on Saturday afternoon (see how black the sky was - it ended up POURING about halfway through the events and we had to move it inside to Andrews Field House). But still - lots of fun.

Hmmm...I think a quick nap is in order (it's been a long day, have pity on me).

Have a good one!

Greeks Unlimited

So the theme for Greek Week is a country western, redneck, hillbilly kinda thing.

N1491360154_30048391_4566 Last night was the Lip Sync competition, and so I participated in an AMAZING performance by myself and fellow Tri Deltas (unfortunately, we didn't win, but we did come in 3rd place)!

I'm also one half of the cornhole (think the tailgating version of a bean bag toss) team for Tri Delta that is in the FINALS baby! So that's tomorrow, during GREEK GAMES!!!

I'm ridiculously excited, if you can't tell. I'm music chair, which basically means that I have even more of an excuse to scream and shout and act like a crazy person. Not that I really need an excuse anyway.

Ok, as much as I love writing for you cool kids, I have to go to tennis in like 5 minutes. So have fun, especially to all my faves back home who are in "Anything Goes" this weekend!! I love you all and break a leg; you're all amazing and I wish sosososo much that I could have made it back to Mars High to see you all in your shining, singing, and dancing glory! *mwah*

March 10, 2008

Well, that was a smart thing to do.

Img00007Note to self - before you sit through a double header and sit directly in the sun for oh, I dunno, nearly 6 hours, think about what's going to happen if you don't wear sunscreen.

See picture for more of an explanation.

Similar note to self - wear shorts and a t-shirt instead of jeans and a long-sleeve (even though it was kinda chilly and a little windy) - you're PALE and need some sun before spring break!!!

Come on Barbie, let's go party!!!

N506484854_333207_4340_2Last night was our spring crush party. And the theme was "Barbie World". Needless to say, I was one happy chica. I've only been obsessed with both Barbie/dolls/girly toys since ever, and pink comprises most of my wardrobe.

So I went with my friend Joe as "Baseball Barbie/Ken". Hahaha.....yeah. It was a whole lotta fun, it was ridiculous to see everyone all dressed up (Taylor, also in the picture, was "Nightlife Barbie", her boyfriend wore dress pants and a bowtie, no shirt; love it!).

This coming week is Greek Week, which means that there's all sorts of events for all the Greeks on campus!! Yay, I'm so excited! Greek Games is this Saturday, which is lots of fun and crazy games which each sorority/fraternity competes in (more pics and commentary shall follow the madness that will inevitably ensue).

Hmmm....bed time sounds delightful.

Peace out!

Cue the Hallelujah Chorus.

Dsc00303Tonight, against the Tampa Bay Lightening, Sidney Crosby made his triumphant return to the ice in a Penguins game. Ironically, the last time the Pens played Tampa, Sidney slid blade first into the boards, causing his high ankle sprain that took him out. They won 2-0 tonight, in case you were wondering.

So let's recap: Sid's back, Fleury's back, and we got Hossa in the trade.

*Sniffs the air*

Do I smell a Stanley Cup team???

Blah.

It's raining here at Wofford.

And it's icky and kinda miserable. But on the bright side, Zach's reopened. And it's pretty and makes my life the tiniest bit easier (but just a little bit).
