I loved my classes in summer school, but tests cover sooooo much when there are only like 5 weeks to cram everything in. Slept about 3.5 hours Wednesday morning and then got up to grab some breakfast and study. Mini-nap and more studying before sociology. It's been absolute madness this session. 800 million things going on and a whole lot of stress. Then,I've decided I thorougly hate packing and this year I'm doing my best to organize my room in an extremely easily transportable manner. And then, I went to have my porch time with Danielle because I hadn't seen her in a day or two. And then I packed til like 4 am. Then woke up and my mom was here and we packed more. and then I proceeded to engage in mindless activity for hours. I'm really tired. And upset with the Panthers. Their prescence in Greene is the reason I had to drag so much stuff home. Darn them. Anyway, I'm super tired, but I promise pics tomorrow! Night ya'll!

Typepad hates me sometimes apparently. But, I've finally conquered it. YAY!

It's almost 4 in the morning and I have 2 tests tomorrow. I love summer school, but I hate this whole "you-have-two-tests-that-are-your-entire-grade" thing. Definitely puts the pressure on. I love going home, but I hate this whole "I-somehow-manage-to-do-only-a-minute-amount-of-work-if-any" thing. Definitely makes the tests tomorrow/today more interesting.

Since I am currently in my PJs, I'm not taking pics, but promise that tomorrow I'll upload some because there are some cool developments that you guys need to see. Like my cool roomie & my brand new ear piercings (my second hole! YAY) Boot's still on for about 2 and a half more weeks and then a month of rest. I've had 3 boots, 3rd time was definitely the charm. Boot #1 was breaking by like 2 days in. Boot #2 left an absolutely atrocious bruise/scar thing that I'll make sure to have pics of tomorrow also. Boot #3 is basically the same kind of boot I wore on and off this fall. It's so very noticeable. I'm thinking about getting a shirt made that says,"I have a stress fracture. I got it running track this season." I've said those two sentences more times than I care to count, especially at home when I go to church. Apparently people don't look at me from the knees down very carefully unless I'm walking funny. Who knows?

It's hot again. I didn't see any of those electric sign thermometers below like 96 today and the highest one I saw registered 100 degrees. Glad I spent most of today inside putting together the new TV stand my mom just bought. And yes, in case you didn't know, I am a "stuff assembly" genius. After figuring out the wire cube shelf things I bought for my room last year, nothing else can remotely compare in assembly difficulty.

Short blurbs about classes since they're on the brain.

Macro. Thought I'd hate it, but my only real problem with it is that it's at 8 in the morning, and even that part's not so bad (unless I pull a Thursday night/Friday morning and decide to go see Batman @ 12:15, definitely DIDN'T go to class on Friday. BUT Batman was worth it, you should all go see it...RIGHT NOW! Heath was amazing!)

I'll miss summer when the semester gets here. This past week involved 3 nights of actual cooking for dinner (or was it 2???), random mall trips and ear piercing, laying out on the lawn, laying out @ the Marriot with Anna (my phenomenal summer school roomie), random everything with Merry Ellen and Alex, talking on the porches of the apartments till 1 & 2 in the morning, skateboarding lessons, shopping, and of course, perpetual hobbling. I get to go home more than I do during the semester, too. That's great because I finally caved and started taking my laundry home for my mom to do & when I return on Sunday night, I always have ridiculous amounts of food from home (today, for instance, my mom sent me back with pork and tortillas for tacos, black beans & rice, and some chicken & rice casserole. YUM!)

Okay, it's 4. I suppose my blog/study break must end :(, but I promise pics of the ears, the scar, and Anna (if I can catch her) tomorrow! Night ya'll! (Or is it good morning? :D)

Home for the weekend. Back for English and Macrecon bright and early on Monday morning.

Swing dancing Tuesday night! YAY!

Maybe Sushi again this week....maybe a baseball game. Campus is pretty fun during the summer. Of course, I've gotta see who else has arrived for second session. There are some slow nights because there are still tests and the like to be had, but generally there's something fun to do. I think I'll miss summer school a lot when the semester starts and I have 5 classes instead of two.

I'm a big sister. My baby sister is a high school senior this year *tear* We're really close and I love her terribly. Of course, there are moments when she's utterly annoying, but I'm generally overjoyed to see her when I come home or she comes up. I'm also sure I'm a pretty cool daughter cool. My mom is a single parent and a native of Belize. She actually just got her citizenship during exam week in May. I love her to death and enjoy her sarcasm immensely. My mom's a cool cat. I take friends home whenever I can to eat her amazing food.

Speaking of food, I'm a creature of interesting appetites. I don't eat wings, watermelon, or gravy. I hate for my food to touch (except for my favorite meal of salmon and mashed potatoes which I mix together). I probably love ice cream and popsicles more than the average 5 year old. Starches are my favorite food group. I love red bell pepper. Broccoli makes my stomach hurt, but it's one of my favorite vegetables. My mom cooks a lot of Belizean dishes for me. I love her rice and beans, tamales, panadas, and plantains. I eat and don't eat things that surprise people. I'm fine with it.

I love working out. The gym always makes me feel better after a stressful day. I often find myself in there more than once during the day. I run track for Wofford, which I love. But, in the spring especially, it keeps me busy. Most Friday afternoons I find myself on my way to one track or another during the spring. And during the semester I have afternoon workouts or weights and the like.

At school, I'm a pretty social creature. I'm at every home football game, out at the Row hanging out and getting my dance on most Friday and Saturday nights, talking to whoever I meet on the hall or on the sidewalks or at dinner in Burwell. I always have my phone with me & I've become a serious textaholic this year. I call my mom most nights after dinner before I start work, & that's as big a part of my schedule as classes or anything else.

I'm an ISB (Intercultural Studies for Business) major and in love with the Spanish language. Right now I'm extremely excited about the trips I am planning: one in January to Mexico & the other next fall to Mallorca for a semester. I hope to go to grad school at USC after graduation and afterwards move to either Atlanta or Charlotte to live.

As for this fall, I'll be living in Greene in either 207 or 208, I can't remember which number right now. I have no roommate, so I'll definitely love company. This past year, my door was basically always open and it'll probably be the same way this year. I have good snacks, and definitely lots to share, so anyone who wants to stop by for a few minutes and chat will be a welcome study break & will be rewarded with food if they so desire it.

So my first experience with any type of summer school has been pretty cool thus far. I'm taking two classes, English 201 with Dr. Grinnell and Music 201 with Dr. McCraw. They're both really cool. Dr. Grinnell is my favorite of the two, though. If I must be awake every day for the next month at 8am, I'm glad it's her class. It's really interesting. We're reading Beowulf (I finished it a few hours ago), it was a much more enjoyable read than I expected. I generally hate poetry, but I guess that one's so long it's like a story with odd sentences instead of a poem. There are these seriously random mini-stories that kinda bug me, but they still don't make Beowulf bad, so I'm happy about that. Music App's cool too. I play an instrument, so this first unit hasn't been too much stuff I haven't heard before which is kind of nice. With two classes, I have the rest of my day open for naps and working out and work. And I can go to bed really, really early....I better enjoy it now, I guess, it's definitely not happening during the semester with Chemistry looming before me.

I'm in Shipp, I didn't end up getting an apartment. It doesn't bother me too much minus the whole "lack of a stove" thing. And being as I don't eat very much, it's not really that big of a deal either. I don't have a roommate this session and I can't decide how I feel about it. It's a little creepy, but I like having a space that's completely my own...common room and all.

Well, off to do my English response and look over some music. Perhaps I'll reward myself with a movie tonight, though my workout earlier will probably have me drifting off to sleep way before the end of it. I'll keep you guys posted on summer events. Laters!

My mom and sister still have school, so I spend my days sleeping in watching tv and surfing the web. The laziness is amazing. As amazingly pumped as I am about heading back to campus for summer school, it occurs to me that there isn't really time to see everyone before I head back. I haven't seen most of my high school gang since January and chances are slim that I'll see them before I head back to Wofford on Sunday afternoon. Thoughts like that bum me out just a bit. Went to lunch with friends today; one Wofford and one from home. They knew each other from high school. I was so happy to see a Wofford face. Leaving that place for the summer is kind of like leaving home. I'm so used to the people and routines and places that having to quit them cold turkey was like being thrown into ice water. I'll be glad to re-enter Wofford, though there will be an abscence of people I love, there are also some awesome ones that I get to spend the summer with and living the chill life on campus will be nice without too much hustle and bustle from semester classes. Though I do wish I could magically transport my stuff back to campus...

College will probably take at least twice as much work as you're used to doing, even if you had a sparkling high school GPA. I'm headed back to Wofford for most of the summer. While I really didn't want to leave, I wasn't planning on being back quite so soon either. Happily and hopefully, at the end of the summer, I'll go back with 12 more hours to add to my total and the GPA I should've made this past year.

After four exams and 2 hours of working quite hard with Colleen and Rachel to fit all of my stuff into the suburban, I am home. My living room is full of random crates and clothes and bedding and snacks. It's nuts. It definitely did not look like this much stuff when it was so nicely (if not a little messily) set up. So, I am currently doing a little sorting. A word of advice to any of the incoming freshman, you will be spoiled when people carry your stuff in for you on move-in day. Remember that they won't be there to carry it back out at the end of exam week. Make friends at school, Dewayne (who you will learn that you should know and love) came and got my fridge into the car for me. YAY!

Syd snuck off on Wednesday night before I got to say bye to her. Bets and Allie T. left on Thursday. Dane, Laura, and Court were out on Friday. I will definitely miss my hallmates. We had a blast this year, but Wednesday nights had to be one of the greatest nights in the history of our hall. We had a blast goofing off and I got a new nickname. Oh yeah, I promised Bets to blog something the other night.

If that gives you any idea of the madness that was going on the other night. Definitely miss my neighbors mucho.

I am excited about summer school. I figured it won't hurt to get ahead, give the GPA a little boost, y'know? I found out Thursday that there will be a ton of fun people at second session with me, so I'm really pumped about that. I've never been to summer school, but this looks like it'll definitely be a fun experience. Plus, I get to live in the apartments....YAY!!!

Anyway, thanks for reading this year. It's been fun. I will blog into the summer for as long as they let me, though I suppose after Sunday I'm not a freshman anymore.
