January Smackdown!

Interim_2008_014So I think one of the best things about Interim is getting to see what so many people have worked on. I went to the Rocky Horror Show last Friday night and it was AMAZING! Definitely worth going out late to see and because I believe in doing everything as well as I can, I dressed up! Of course, I went with Sydney, Dane, & Alex & we had an amazing time!

Last night, the wrestling interim had their big show. It was utterly amazing! The place was packed full of people. It was like a 2 hour show, but every second of it was absolutely thrilling. There were costumes and dirty fighting and sneaky managers....it was enough to make me want to start actually watching wrestling.

Of course, my personal January smackdown would be the icky sinus stuff that has somehow managed to creep on me yet again. I hate to be sick, but I take serious comfort in knowing that I have til Sunday to not feel well in the comfort of my own home! YAY!!! I love to be home & since the snow and jazz kept me from getting back on my birthday I am very happy to be home before I get into the swing of things on Monday.

I bought books today. I was pumped. My books all actually look pretty cool & I spent  a little less than $400 which is much better than last semester when I spent a little over $500. I have no math and no science, I'm pretty pumped about that & it's definitely one of the things I don't miss about high school. My MWF schedule looks pretty cool. Pretty cool meaning that I don't start class til 1030 and only have 3 classes on those days. DEFINITELY an improvement over last semester if I do say so myself. TR are a little bit rougher. My day starts at 930 and goes til 5 on Tuesdays and 4 on Thursdays. But, the way I look at it, 2 out of 7 days of the week like that isn't half bad. I can't wait to get to class and see how my professors are and which of my friends I'm going to end up seeing in class everyday! I'm pumped about getting started on my novels for English, they look super duper good. I'm tempted to start one of them early....I'm actually planning on reading The Golden Compass while I'm home. I want to see what the big deal is with this book, so I'm pretty pumped about that.

Anyway, right now I'm hanging out with my mommy....so I'm gonna go enjoy the time I have with her. Catch ya'll later!

Sleepless Nights...

What I love most about Interim is that late night runs during the week are totally doable because I can take a post-lunch nap every day!

My Monday night was full of fun randomness with Syd & Alex. I hadn't seen either of them since like the week before and therefore hadn't seen them on my birthday :(  We grabbed dinner in Burwell. From there we decided to go to Starbucks. After a while in Starbucks, someone suggested a movie & we went to see August Rush. It was even better because it was super cheap! YAY! Then we got back and played Cooking Mama on Wii. For those of you who have never heard of it, Cooking Mama is a game where you basically cook. It's got chopping, frying, grilling, stirring, and all that jazz. Syd loves it & it makes me feel even worse about my already bad cooking skills (I've been getting better lately though!). Anyway, after playing for a while and watching some Planet Earth, we got hungry. So the 3 of us & one of Alex's neighbors headed out to Papa's at about 1am for some late-night eatage. It was sooooo good! I had cheese eggs, so I was happy.

Let me just say, that in general I don't have problems with Burwell, but I can't stand their eggs! Being that eggs made up the majority of my random snackage/Friday night dinners at home, it kinda bums ne out. Therefore, whenever I go home or out somewhere like Papa's or Waffle House, I eat absolutely massive amounts of eggs.

Anyway, back to Monday night (or Tuesday morning by this point)....

We got back and I grabbed my laptop out of Alex's room and headed off to bed. Met Robert & Josh outside of Greene and stopped to talk in the cold for like 45 mins. John came by too & of course, I had to talk to my husband! ;) Anyway, long story short, I think I ended up in bed @ 3 and woke to my phone ringing @ 715 b/c my mom told my sister to call me to tell me not to call her during the day because she didn't have her phone. I was pretty mad. I also was a bad person and didn't go to class Tuesday morning, but ended up working out instead. Went to class Tuesday afternoon and watched Driving Miss Daisy. It was really good, I understood it so much more than when I watched it years and years ago.

Last night, I got to bed really early and it was great. Especially because around my birthday didn't give me great sleepage either. Friday I was out celebrating my birthday and didn't head to bed til about 330 or so. Saturday night, Caitlin, Aleah, & I went to Waffle House and just chatted about life and told fun stories. We got back around 230/300 i wanna say. But, I got online and couldn't pull myself away from my computer til 400. I did sleep til like 430 the next day though. That was pretty great, I must say. Anyway, with the semester getting ready to get back in full swing, I am trying to chill out with the staying up til all hours because I'm definitely not gonna be able to do that every night after Feb. 4th!

Is it bad that it's not even 9 and I'm contemplating bed??? Oh wait, I still have to go work out....no rest for the weary, I guess! Check you later peeps!

Oh, before I forget (& since I promised) here are pics of the beautiful sushi that Syd made tonight. They had people to teach you to make it AND pre-made sushi. Alex and I went pre-made straight up, but Syd went to test out her Cooking Mama skills. I thought they looked beautiful. What do you think?

BirthDAY!!!!

So, today is my 19th birthday. It has been by far one of my best birthdays ever (minus the whole not being at home thing).

First of all, I started celebrating at midnight. I got sung to by some friends at about one this morning. And got some rockin' new bandanas from Aleah as my very first brithday present of the day. Played the Sims in bed til I fell asleep. I was awoken at 930 this morning when my mom and sister called to wish me happy birthday. Right after I turned over to go back to sleep, Ms. Nordstrom (the teacher my mommy works with) called to wish me happy birthday. Then I went back to sleep til like 230 because I didn't have class today. Woke up and got dressed and went to see Mike Huckabee speak in Leonard. Rick Flair, Andre Bauer, and that Beasley guy were there as well and it was a pretty cool deal. Saw my favorite there and we made plans to do something tonight. Then I went and did an insane workout that made me sorer than I already was for like an hour and half. Came back, called my favorite, and took shower. I was straightening my hair and my favorite called me back. He'd been working out, too. We decided to go to dinner. We ended up going to Sake (lil Japanese place like less 5 mins from campus). I had the Wofford Roll which was super yummy and some fried rice. I just got back from that. We had such a blast at dinner. And now I'm here blogging about my cool day. Gonna go to the PKA office party in a few. It'll be fun. And yeah, that's been my birthday thus far. Definitely not too shabby as birthdays go. So yeah, four years of birthdays here is not going to be too bad. I like it. I would like it more if Sydney and Dane were here, but that just means I get to celebrate again when they're both here....YAY!!! I'm going to go watch a movie til Row time....Catch ya later, kids!

Melty Melty Day...

So first of all, guess which one of your fav bloggers went to bed at 5am and went to class @ 9am....okay so it was like 910 cause I overslept a little....but that would be me.

Class today was a movie that was about 3.5 hours.....ahhhhh! It would've been great had the length of the movie also been the amount of sleep I got last night. The movie was Apocalypse Now. It definitely filled up every minute it took and it was seriously intense. I was just seriously tired, too.

Came back to my room. Lunch. Talked to my friend Drew who got a snow day today. Nap. Toward the end of my nap I got a phone call from Coach. I was supposed to take her a tuning fork and kinda forgot so I ran over to Richardson in my light pink flannel PJ pants that are covered in hearts to give it to her. Got back and cleaned to continue procrastiniating. Finally wrote my paper that was due at 5 in less than an hour and a half. Talked to my mommy. Then dinner. I'm about to change and head out into the 37 degree (at least that's what my comp says) night and do my workout. I'm super sore from yesterday, but there's work to be done! So gonna do that and then maybe call my favorite to watch a movie or something.

Only 4 hours and 40 or so mins until the 18th and my 19th! WHOOOO!!!! Anyway, peace out kids.

Snowy Snowy Night!

So it's 3am. And I just got in from playing in the snow...that's right....SNOW!

The last couple years, SC hasn't gotten much snow. Since I live in Greenville, we generally share Spartanburg's weather. So I know from experience there's been lots of ice, but not so much snow. Tonight it started snowing seriously hardcore. Everyone was out. There was a huge snowball fight going on in the middle of the Row & as I was taking my laundry downstairs just now, I still heard people coming in. It's so great.

I, being the freak about photogenic natury things that I am, took tons of pictures. In fact, my snow experience was more pictures and munching on fresh snow than anything else. Here's just a few I took.

Supposedly Wofford doesn't close when it snows. I'm supposed to go to class and watch a movie. But, I'm sorely tempted to borrow that movie from the library and watch it in the comfort of my own room and flannel PJs. But, we'll see.

Anyway, off to play the Sims til my laundry's done. Enjoy the pics, hoping to get more tomorrow before the big meltdown! And guess what else?! My birthday's Friday....YAY!!!! Super thrilledness! Anyways, later kids!

I'm Baaaack!

Let me just say I am amazingly happy to be back oncampus. I love being home, but I missed my friends and my routine up here at school.

I finished my first semester of college. Not an amazing finish, but still a finish. I ended up with a 2.4....ick! My GPA was the reverse of that through most of high school. Anywho...the damage is done now and I already know what I need to do next semester to bring it all up, so I'm just chilling out while I still have time....before I start my spring semester with 18 hours. This should definitely be interesting.

My two best friends from home, Colleen & Ashley, came up on Friday to visit. Because I have an amazing interim, I didn't have class on Friday. Because Colleen & Ashley go to Clemson, they were still at home. So they came up and I gave them the grand tour and introduced them to people and all that good stuff. Then we went and grabbed some dinner, came back to campus to meet Dane, and the four of us headed off to Greenville to go ice skating. Definitely a fun night! I just really enjoyed getting to combine sets of friends for once. Normally the friends from home & school don't hang out, so I liked that I got to be with both sets at once.

Interim, like I said, is amazing! I have Dr. Griswold who I had for Spanish for Interim. I think she's like the coolest person ever AND she's heading an interim class on movies! So I just HAD to take it! We watched our first movie on Thursday.... The Best Years of Our Lives....check out the link to see what it's about. I really liked it and I'm really looking forward to a movie filled January!

I think I'm gonna head outside, my laptop tells me it's 66 degrees, since it was like 16 degrees on Thursday morning our first day of class, I'm pretty pumped! Catch ya later, kids!
