Rainman Rayner...4:20

Greetings. Well, I'm just throwin down in my room right now doin my thing and thought I should update the world. Tonight, my bro Josh and I went to a nearby concert venue known as Ground Zero to see a show. As I Lay Dying was headlining with Still Remains, Evergreen Terrace, and August Burns Red. The show was awesome, especially August Burns Red and As I Lay Dying. I thought August Burns Red had the best performance musically, but As I Lay Dying put on a real crazy show since they had so many lights (and some really intense energy). Sorry I don't have any pictures...cameras and other valuable/breakable things aren't a good thing to bring to metal shows. Here are some pictures of my two favorites though.

Other than that, I've mostly just been working with Tyler and Josh on our songs for class. It kinda sucks because Interim is coming to a close. I guess I'll just have to make the best of my time. Oh, and one last thing. I was selected by the college for this program called IMPACT. It should be awesome because it sets us up with some great connections to the school's administration and allows us to make changes within the school and community. So if you want in, make sure you (prospective freshmen) get some killer grades first semester! Peace out ladies and gents.

Stacheville, Tennessee

Hello humans. This is human Brendan. I apologize for the lack of bloggage. With my camera being broken, I've been relatively uninspired. However, I have obtained a new camera, so there is still yet hope for that which blogs.

As I said before, I am in the songwriting Interim class. As part of the class, we got to travel in two crowded, noisy vans to Nashville, Tennessee, where we were able to further our studies. With that being said, it was definitely the best three days of Interim. On the first night, Baker (our killer teacher) took us to the "Family Wash", a place where relatively big country/folk musicians come and play for tips. It was a lot of fun, and Baker even made a star appearance on the stage. Why not take a gander...

So Happy 2 Rock!

Later that night we just came back to the hotel and had a sweet rave/dance party in our hotel room. I didn't get pictures...but I'll give you the setup. So, both beds were pushed to the walls to make a real groovin dance floor. Then I plugged in the strobe light (I never make a trip without it) and Josh got the jams goin. After that, the giraffe mask got pulled out and we were in business. Serious business.

On Day #2, we met Steve Young, and he played and sang some songs for us. If you don't know, Steve Young wrote the song "Seven Bridges Road," which was made famous by The Eagles. He rocked. Then, in the afternoon, the class went to the Country Music Hall of Fame. There was some pretty righteous stuff there...Elvis's 24k gold piano, Johnny Cash's guitars, and many sweet, sweet things in general. While I don't like country or country-esque songs, Baker has taught us to at least appreciate the art behind the lyrics and musicianship...regardless of personal taste. The last class activity of the night was going to Robert's Bar on Broadway to see a band perform. This bro JD could shred like none other.

Then, we closed off the night with some real bro time in the hotel. While we were bored for a short period of time, a moment of brilliance came to me. Like any ready and prepared traveler, I packed my trusty "Self-Adhesive Stylish Mustaches Kit: A Mustache for Every Day of the Week." She Is Just A Glitch

Wud up world? This is Sway...not really. But yeah, this is actually Brendan - the Wofford College Brendan. I have to say, it's good to be back. I've gotten to see a lot of my good friends again and all of my fraternity brothers. It's odd, but after only two weeks of not seeing everyone it just felt great to see everyone again. I miss my friends from back home still, but I am really starting to feel like I just might belong here with these people. We shall see...

But Interim has definitely been great so far. I am taking "The Art of Songwriting", and it is freakin sweet. Baker, as everybody knows, is the man, and the most righteous of righteous teachers. (Some people call him "Shredder" because he shreds so much on the guitar.) The cool thing about him and the class, though, is that everything and everyone seems a lot more open minded than normal. For instance, Baker was interested in learning what a "breakdown" is in a metal/metalcore/whatever-you-want-to-call-it, so my friend Josh and I brought in some Bring Me The Horizon to jam to ("Pray For Plagues"). Needless to say, we rocked some faces off that class. I am also taking Fitness this Interim to get my Physical Education credit out of the way for next semester.

Other than that, things have been very relaxed. Mostly just party, watch movies, hang out, and be the baddest dude on campus. This badness (as in bad to the bone) includes purchasing a moustache kit for each day of the week, jumping from great heights off of buildings while eating Mac & Cheese, inventing panda bears, discovering the cure for all "itis"-es, and being the first man alive to walk on Saturn. YOU ROCK!!
